I highly recommend taking up a percussion instrument to hone your rhythm chops. Maybe just a pair of shakers, maybe bongos, congas, or a djembe (Pro Tip: don’t choose an instrument if it’s labeled as “home decor”).
They’re all fun and useful. Perform the rhythms from your main instrument on a percussion instrument when you need a break.
